Robert has provided tax and advisory services to professional investors and entrepreneurs for over a decade. Robert advises his clients on a wide variety of issues including tax planning for private equity acquisitions and dispositions, cross-border investments, and financial products.
Prior to re-joining FLSV in 2018, Robert served as a Tax Manager at Centerbridge Partners, L.P., where he worked on Centerbridge’s distressed debt and special situation funds dealing with a wide range of tax matters, including U.S. and non-U.S. debt investments, portfolio company restructurings, bankruptcy, direct lending, international tax planning, and private equity investments. Prior to Centerbridge, Robert spent four years at Deloitte Tax, where he advised private equity funds and general partners of asset management firms on income tax matters.
Robert received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from James Madison University, where he played varsity baseball. He also completed a Master of Science in Taxation degree from SUNY-Old Westbury. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Fanny joined FLSV in 1996 and has over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting providing accounting, tax, general business consulting, and special project services such as analysis for mergers and acquisitions and tax structuring. Focused primarily on general accounting and income tax compliance, her career has centered around closely-held business, middle-market, family-owned businesses, private equity funds, investment funds, and high net-worth individuals. Fanny has served clients in a wide variety of industries including public relations, strategic lending, media and entertainment, real estate and rental management, manufacturing and distribution, e-commerce and technology, financial services, law firms, and other service businesses. Her diverse experience has allowed her to be effective in supporting her clients whether providing consultation on accounting and administrative issues, tax planning strategies with a focus on day-to-day compliance issues including federal, state local, and international partnership and corporate tax filings or other business management matters. Her accounting experience enables her to provide relevant and timely advice and assistance to business owners with their internal accounting, periodic reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business development.
Fanny received her Bachelor degree in Accounting from Pace University.
Adam is a partner at FLSV in the Business Tax Services Group. Adam provides tax advisory and compliance services to private equity funds, investment entities, real estate companies, insurance companies, family offices, closely held businesses, management companies, and high-net worth individuals, among others. Adam advises clients on a wide array of Federal, state, and local tax matters, including pass-through entity and corporate matters, domestic entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, business formation and succession planning, inbound and outbound structuring, prospective tax planning, and international tax planning and analysis covering controlled foreign corporations and partnerships, passive foreign investment companies, branch operations, withholding taxes, and foreign tax credits.
Prior to joining FLSV, Adam was a Tax Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance tax practice.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University and his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and is admitted to the bar in the State of New York and State of New Jersey. Adam is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, including serving on the Partnerships and LLCs, C Corporations, and International Taxation committees.
Alan is a founding partner of FLSV and co-manages FLSV’s Business Tax Services Group and the high net-worth individuals tax services group for business owners, entrepreneurs and fund managers. Alan has directed and managed FLSV since inception with his founding partners. Alan’s clients include several private equity and venture capital funds, hedge funds and their respective principals. Alan advises his clients on numerous aspects of transactional services including business formation and fund structuring, tax structuring, business mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, partial monetization and full monetization sales transactions, companies seeking investment capital, business financing, cash management, PFIC and CFC tax analyses, evaluating the impact of check-the-box (CTB) elections, cross-border transactions, qualified small business stock, tax planning for management companies and general partner entities, partnership, S corporation, and individual tax planning strategies, accounting matters and general business advisory services. Alan also serves numerous high net-worth individuals with their individual tax compliance and tax planning strategies, including estate and gift planning, business succession planning, trust planning, investment holding company structures, family limited partnerships, and family office structuring services. Alan has over thirty-five years of experience advising high net-worth individuals, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds, other investment partnership vehicles, management companies and general partner entities, asset management firms, M&A advisory firms, portfolio companies, real estate entrepreneurs, closely-held companies and their owners in a wide range of industries including the financial services industry, real estate, music publishing, media and entertainment, manufacturing, law firms and service businesses. Alan and his team also perform highly complex tax planning for partnerships and pass-through entities including Section 704(c) considerations, Section 754 elections and related tax basis adjustments, acquisitions and sales of companies including related tax due diligence, compensation structures, special allocations for partnerships, structuring blocker entities for ECI and UBTI considerations and various other complex tax considerations for partnerships and S corporations. Alan and his team also address various state nexus considerations including state tax analysis, state pass-through entity taxes and strategies for companies and individuals looking to establish presence and moving their domicile and residency to Florida and other lower taxed states. Alan has written articles and has chaired and lectured conferences on tax, accounting, and financial planning issues for investment partnerships, entrepreneurial companies, and their business owners.
Alan was formerly a Senior Tax Manager in the New York office of Ernst & Young, LLP where he served middle market companies.
Alan received his B.A. in Accounting from Queens College, earned his Master’s degree in Taxation from Fordham University and completed the certificate of financial planning program at New York University. Alan also recently earned a Certificate of Higher Education in History from the University of Oxford.
Alan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and is the former chair of the Closely Held and S Corporation Tax Committee.
Iraida is a Partner in FLSV’s Business Tax Services Group and has provided tax compliance, advisory and consulting services for over 25 years. Her clients include private equity funds and their respective management and general partner entities, closely-held entrepreneurial businesses and wide variety of middle-market companies. Iraida’s clients operate in such industries as food manufacturing and wholesale, music publishing, entertainment, TV production, financial services and investments. She advises clients on federal, state, local and international partnership and corporate tax matters, accounting issues, mergers and acquisitions and tax structuring. Iraida conducts state nexus studies, PFIC and CFC analyses for US clients investing overseas, qualified small business stock analysis; advises international clients on use of US corporate blockers for investments involving ECI and FIRPTA issues and provides support for day-to-day tax compliance and tax planning strategies.
Iraida also works closely with her client’s business owners and high net-worth individuals on individual tax planning strategies including business succession planning, estate and gift planning transfers, investment holding company structures, family limited partnerships and trust planning.
Iraida and her team also perform highly complex tax planning for partnerships and pass-through entities, including Section 704(c) considerations, Section 754 elections and related inside and outside tax basis adjustments, acquisitions and sales of companies including related tax due diligence, compensation structures, special allocations for partnerships, Section 338(h)(10) elections and various other complex tax considerations for partnerships and S corporations.
Iraida received a B.S. from Brooklyn College and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Hyejin has been a member of FLSV’s Business Tax Services Group since 2008. She provides tax compliance, advisory, and consulting services for her clients, which include private equity funds and their GP and management company entities, investment partnerships and alternative investment vehicles, distressed debt funds, investment banking and M&A advisory firms, other financial services companies, and entrepreneurial businesses.
Hyejin specializes in the taxation of domestic and cross-border investments and dispositions including “choice of entity” structuring matters, international and domestic mergers and acquisitions, the taxation of financial instruments, and structuring tax-efficient strategies for pass-through entities and corporate groups. She has also conducted numerous multistate tax nexus analyses resulting from pass-through portfolio investments. Hyejin employs a holistic approach with her clients and guides them through all stages of the private equity fund life cycle: pre-launch, ongoing operations, and winding down with an eye toward the successful launch of the successor fund. She also advises her clients regularly on entity and partner level reporting issues related to the FATCA and CRS reporting regimes.
A magna cum laude graduate of Columbia University’s Columbia College, Hyejin received her BA in psychology. At Columbia, Hyejin accepted a membership to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her MA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and earned her JD from the University of Minnesota Law School with magna cum laude honors. Charles is a founding partner of FLSV and co-manages FLSV’s Business Services Group. Charles has provided tax and advisory services to closely held businesses, investment partnerships, private equity funds, hedge funds, family offices, real estate investment funds, family-owned businesses and high-net worth individuals for over thirty years. Charles has extensive experience in providing federal, state, local and international tax structuring, compliance, and planning services to hedge fund investment managers, private equity funds, venture capital funds, family offices and middle market businesses.
Charles advises his clients on a wide variety of issues including business formation and tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, federal, state and local corporate and partnership tax matters and tax planning strategies, accounting and administration issues, compensation structuring, ECI and FDAP withholding, business development and advisory services and estate and inter-generational planning. Charles has written articles and has lectured at professional conferences on tax and planning issues for investment partnerships, closely held businesses and high net worth individuals.
Prior to founding FLSV in 1995, Charles was an executive in the New York Office of Ernst & Young, where he provided tax and advisory services to middle market and investment partnership clientele.
Charles earned his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Adelphi University and his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law. His professional affiliations include associate membership of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association where he is also a member of the Investment Funds, Pass Through Entities and Individual Tax Committees.
Lee has provided tax and advisory services to private equity funds, hedge funds, and mutual funds for over 15 years. Lee advises his clients on a wide variety of issues including federal, state, and local partnership and corporate tax matters, partner allocations, and foreign tax reporting. Prior to joining FLSV, Lee served as an associate with Goldman Sachs where he worked on Goldman’s external private equity funds and hedge funds dealing with a wide range of tax matters and investor inquiries. Lee received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Joseph is a Partner at Frankel, Loughran, Starr & Vallone LLP and leads our Accounting Services Group and the Family Office Practice. He has over twenty years of experience serving the accounting and finance needs of a wide range of emerging businesses and high-net worth individuals. He has extensive experience working with Private Equity and lnvestment Partnerships.
Joseph has been instrumental in assisting firms during their start-up phase by providing valuable insight into areas such as developing an effective accounting system, managing day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping needs, employee and benefits considerations and Iocal filing obligations.
Prior to joining FLSV, Joseph served as a Vice President with Bear Stearns where he provided accounting services to several large institutional clients.

Patty is a Partner of FLSV who joined the firm at its inception and formerly worked at Morgan Stanley, where she oversaw the personal taxes and financial planning of its executives. Patty brings with her more than 32 years of experience assisting high-net-worth individuals and families plan their finances and minimize their tax burdens. Her areas of expertise are many: compensatory stock options, tax treatment of hedging techniques, diversified portfolio management, strategic tax planning for entrepreneurs in private equities and venture capital funds, retirement planning, family office tax services, residency issues and everything related to gifts, trusts and foundations. Patty’s clients include many high-profile executives, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists who have been working with her for two or three decades.
Patty holds a CPA, CFP, and Series 7 licenses. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Gregg has over twenty years of experience providing tax and advisory services to middle market businesses, multi-state entities, investment partnerships and high net worth individuals. Gregg advises his clients on business formation and tax structuring, federal, state and local corporate and partnership tax matters, cross-border transactions, global tax planning strategies, estate, gift and trust planning, wealth management and family office services.

Seth is a founding partner of Frankel Loughran Starr & Vallone LLP. Seth oversees the firm’s Personal Tax Services and Wealth Management Estate Financial Planning Groups. Seth’s expertise for over 35 years has guided these groups in providing tax consulting, income and estate tax planning, federal, state and local tax compliance services, and representation before federal and state tax authorities. He is a trusted advisor to a diverse group of clients including high net worth individuals, investment banking and hedge fund managers, private equity fund managers and entrepreneurs, business owners and family groups. He also advises his clients on multi-generational tax and estate planning, wealth-preservation strategies, philanthropic and retirement planning, risk management, executive compensation, stock option planning and monetizing low cost security holdings. Seth directs the interaction between his clients and their various advisors, including attorneys, investment advisors, and insurance professionals.
Prior to co-founding the Firm, Seth honed his personal tax expertise through his senior positions as Vice President and Tax Director of the Individual Tax Group at Morgan Stanley, a position he held for six years, and as a Senior Tax Manager for eight years at E&Y (Ernst and Young) LLP.
Seth received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Accounting from SUNY Albany and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Pace University. He is a Certified Financial Planner and holds both the Series 7 and Series 63 Security Licenses. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has been a guest on National Public Radio, a lecturer at professional tax and financial planning conferences and an Adjunct Professor at a financial planning institution.
Mary Beth joined Frankel, Loughran, Starr & Vallone LLP (FLSV) in 2015 and is a Partner in our High Net Worth Group. She relocated to Florida in 2018 to open FLSV’s satellite office in West Palm Beach, where the firm can more easily service their growing clientele in South Florida and Latin America.
With more than 27 years of experience in Public Accounting, Mary Beth focuses on the High Net Worth areas of Individual, Fiduciary, Private Foundations, and Gift and Estate. As the firm’s clientele is primarily in the Financial Services and Real Estate industries, she services the Fund Managers, Principals, and Investors. Mary Beth advises her clients in tax compliance, income tax and estate planning, and also works with many international clients, assisting them with US tax compliance and cross-border tax planning.
Mary Beth has been very successful in audit resolution for numerous states involving residency audits, as well as with IRS inquiries and examinations. Prior to entering Public Accounting, Mary Beth worked in the private sector in the Banking and Finance Industry and brought those skills to enhance her abilities at FLSV.
Mary Beth received her B.B.A. in Accounting from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY and earned her MBA from University of Phoenix. Reed has spent his professional career, over 25 years, in public and private accounting assisting clients with their tax and accounting needs. He currently provides tax services for current and former senior executives of investment banks, hedge funds and high net worth families and their related entities.
Reed assists clients with their tax compliance, research and planning needs. He also represents them before federal, state and local authorities concerning tax examinations and assessments.
Prior to joining FLSV Reed was employed by various CPA firms and Fortune 500 Companies.
Reed is a graduate of Long Island University where he earned a BS degree in Accounting and a MS degree in Taxation. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Adrianna has more than twenty years of experience in office management and administration. Adrianna focuses on key business objectives including overall office daily operations and compliance, organizational effectiveness, and efficiency. In addition, her daily responsibilities include, new employee orientation, employee benefits and payroll, Firm events, facilities compliance and management of Firm’s vendor relationships.
Adrianna received a B.A. in Education from Queens College, is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and is a Notary Public.
Rachal is a human capital consultant and business advisor with twenty years of accounting and human capital experience. Rachal has extensive experience with accounting and consulting firms, including the Big Four and other large and medium sized companies. Rachal provides executive and employee coaching, develops employee policies and procedures and ensures the Firm is in compliance with various legal and regulatory requirements. Rachal evaluates and administers training curriculum, and develops customized mentoring and career development programs.
Rachal earned a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Baruch College, The City University of New York, Zicklin School of Business, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University.
Ruth serves as the Director of Finance for Frankel Loughran Starr & Vallone LLP. She joined the firm in 2017 and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Ruth oversees the accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis for the firm as well for select clients.
Prior to joining FLSV, Ruth spent more than 15 years in the private equity industry in the roles of VP of Finance and Controller for Insight Venture Partners and OpenView Venture Partners. She began her career at Ernst & Young providing audit and assurance services to private equity funds, brokerage firms and insurance clients.
Ruth graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 1998 with high distinction.
Pradeep Pillai is an IT management professional with over 18 years of experience in IT Infrastructure development, disaster recovery, and information security management. Pradeep is adept at leading cloud design and implementation as well as IT procurement. Moreover, he is recognized as a dynamic leader with expertise in spearheading various phases of diverse IT projects from conception to completion.
In Pradeep’s current role as an IT Director within Frankel Loughran Starr & Vallone LLP, he leads the IT department in driving diverse projects and overseeing the IT infrastructures and security. Previously, he spent 8 months at InterContinental Capital Group, leading and completing their IT infrastructure transition project. He also managed networks & systems during his 5 year tenure at Freedom Mortgage Corporation. Prior to that, Pradeep worked at ITAMG, where he was responsible for the help desk operations, network security, and E-commerce website.
